EXTERIOR PAINTING SERVICES

POWER WASHING

CAULKING, PUTTYING, GLAZING

POWER WASHING

We use a bleach solution to kill mildew and remove chalking. It is extremely important to have clean surface to bind to. Also, if you have a peeling steel siding house, a hard power wash will remove as much of the loose paint as possible

SCRAPING

CAULKING, PUTTYING, GLAZING

POWER WASHING

We are a lead certified company, so we prep older houses with lead paint in the under layers. For this we will wear PPE, plastic tarp under where we scrape, and clean up as much remaining debris as possible. It is important to remove any currently loose substrate, so it doesn’t cause the new coat to fail.

We caulk all top side edges of exposed trim and splits. This prevents moisture from getting in, but not bottom sides, because that is where moisture escapes opposed to coming through your paint causing cracking or bubbling. We use putty in any woodpecker holes, and we re-glaze old windows that have old glazing loose.

PRIMING

BRUSH AND ROLLER FINISH COAT

This is a paramount process in specific situations. We use Zinseer Peelstop primer for areas of prepped bare wood, opposed to regular primers. It is the consistency of water that soaks into any remaining cracks to glue them down and soaks into wood that has a bit of surface deterioration to make a firm surface so delamination will not occur. If you put any type of paint over a weak surface the weight will pull those deteriorated wood fibers off and leave you in the very same spot. In addition, for a peeling metal siding house, we use a metal bonding primer and several other specialty primers for specific situations.

SPRAY FINISH COAT

We typically will spray larger metal siding projects creating an even smooth finish. Also, with larger wood siding houses where there is a
lot of prep work, it is key to always back-roll the product so it gets into the cracks and works into the subsurface.

This method is used for smaller houses, typically Masonite siding houses. We use a large 9 inch roller and underbrush the siding to ensure all surfaces are well covered and sealed.

We will brush and mini roller paint trim. Typically soffits, windows, doors and frames. This offers the precision that is needed for the
tricky locations. This step is what real puts a beautiful final touch on your project.
