Our Story
Prairie Rose Painting and Roofing has been in business since 2007. Each year we hire around 20 of the best local college and high school students. The money they earn is extremely important for them to get to and make it through college. Many of these individuals will work with us for multiple summers, but we encourage them to move on and chase their dreams into their fields of study. We currently have doctors, professional football players, business owners, engineers, and full time guides.
Our company is different from other renovation companies, because of our students. We do not hire the typical contractor employee where you’re not sure where that individual was last week, and we never hire day labor. This shows in our 98% recommendation rating and over 1000 projects in counting completed since 2007. All the credit goes to our extremely friendly and hardworking girls and guys who make sure your experience is one that you are happy to share with friends and family.
Prairie Rose has been in this area since 2012, but has been in business since 2007. Our founder and CEO, Nic (pictured above), moved his business here in 2012 to be close to his large extended family from Lakota, ND area and to open his guide business, working towards opening a hunting and fishing lodge on Devils Lake. Nic had previously run his business in Wisconsin through College Pro. Through six years with that company, he receive their highest award, the President’s Award, each year. Nic also finished his career in the top 1% of all franchises for quality and production. He went to college in Wisconsin at the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point and graduated with a forestry and business degree. Nic's role models are his mom and late grandpa. They taught him the most important lessons: Hard work and having a strong faith, but still how to have fun. Nic's grandpa grew his farm from several hundred acres to over 11 sq miles while raising 10 kids and having 35 grandkids. I am grateful to be one of those 35.
